A compact wrist of outstanding rigidity has been achieved through the adoption of a system in which the wrist mechanism, featuring a directly coupled reducer, is driven by a drive shaft.
A high-precision reducer system and rugged mechanical structure result in an outstanding repeatability of +/-0.5 mm.
The adoption of a fully electronic absolute positioning system eliminates the need for zero return operations after power on. This permits instant, automatic startups.
Three high-speed wrist axis are provided to enable fast changes in wrist position to match the robot's high-speed movements. A linear motion speed of 1200mm/sec is attainable at all points within the robot's working envelope.
Each axis is equipped with a brake. In the event of malfunction or power failure, the robot position is automatically maintained.
The robot's mechanical system is equipped with a mastering function which keep the robot's coordinate system at a constant. Program compatibility is maintained even if another robot is substituted, and the coordinate system is precisely set for visual sensors or offline programming.
