	The FANUC ROBOT S-MODEL 800 is a six - axis articulated robot with a load capacity of 60 kg at the wrist. Using the fixed - link mechanism, it has a compact mechaical unitand a large operating space. Compared to its conventional counterparts in the same class, the size of the mechanical unit is about three-quarters and the operating space is more than twice as large. It can be installed in a small space and can reach machine at any place around it. As one unit can be used for two or more machines and peripheral devises, the operating efficiency is quite high. It can be either installed on the floor or suspended from the ceiling. It is suitable for a wide range of applications. In addition to the large operating space, the S-MODEL 800 has a higher operating speed, larger torque at the wrist, and higher repeatability than the conventional robot. A high-performance robot systemcan therefore be established using the S-MODEL 800. The mechanical unit has been developed based on the design concept of the reliable, popular S-420. It is controlled by a state-of-the-art 32-bit controller, and is an achievement in factory automation.

The S-MODEL 800 has an operating speed 1.3 times greater and a torque at the wrist which is 1.4 times greater than conventional robots. The S-MODEL 800 has a repeatability of +/- 0.2 mm while the repeatability of the conventional robot is +/- 0.5 mm.
